This Privacy Policy explains how Joybell ("we", "us", or "our") handles information for the Joybell mobile application ("Joybell" or the "app"). If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at support@joybell.app.
Information We Collect
Joybell may collect and process the following information:
- Account information, such as email address, display name, user identifier, sign-in provider, and authentication tokens needed to keep you signed in.
- Google sign-in profile information, such as email address and profile name, if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Joybell topic information that you create or interact with, such as topic title, description, category, location label, date label, ownership, subscription status, and completion status.
- Notification information, such as your Expo push token, device platform, and topic subscriptions, when you enable push notifications.
- Technical information created by our backend services, such as request metadata, service logs, timestamps, and error information used to operate and troubleshoot the app.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create and manage user accounts and sign-in sessions.
- Show Joybell topics, subscriptions, owned topics, and completed topics.
- Send push notifications for subscribed topics when a topic is marked as done.
- Protect, maintain, debug, and improve the app and backend services.
- Comply with legal, security, and platform requirements.
Sharing And Service Providers
We do not sell personal information. We share information only as needed to run the app with service providers and platform services, including:
- Amazon Web Services for authentication, API hosting, data storage, and notifications.
- Expo for mobile build services and Expo push notification delivery.
- Google sign-in and Firebase/Google Play services for Android platform features.
- Apple services for iOS platform features and push notification delivery.
Data Security
We use managed cloud services, authenticated API requests, access controls, and encrypted transport where supported to protect user data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards.
Data Retention And Deletion
We keep account, topic, subscription, and notification data for as long as needed to provide Joybell, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain service integrity. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data by visiting the Joybell Account Deletion page or emailing support@joybell.app with the email address used for your Joybell account. Some public topic information may be retained or anonymized if it is needed for service integrity, security, or legal reasons.
Children
Joybell is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Joybell, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.
Ads And Analytics
Joybell does not currently use advertising SDKs, sell advertising identifiers, or run third-party behavioral advertising.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Joybell after an update means the updated policy applies.
